Lately I've been seeing on television advertisements that are asking people to aid in donating laptops to children in developing countries by either purchasing a laptop, by spreading the word, or by hosting a fundraiser. I remember hearing about it initially back in 2005 (remember the $100 laptop?), but it's presence is finally being noticed, thanks to a partnership with Amazon.com.
From what I gather on the website, it seems as this initiative is finally taking hold, as there are photos and videos uploaded on the One Laptop per Child Foundation site showing children in developing countries using the laptops. Click this link to view the slideshow.
This sounds like a great idea. Hopefully various schools and organizations would consider hosting fundraisers to purchase laptops for those who can benefit in developing countries.

You would think something like this would have caught peoples attentions much more quickly!
Andreah, I agree wholeheartedly! It's interesting how negative influences can catch on like wildfire thanks to sites like YouTube...but finding positive material is like searching for a diamond in a field!
